A professor showed my class The Story of Stuff once. The part about shifts in fashion designed to coax us to buy new clothes every season, really resonated with me. Ever since I was young I enjoyed thrift shopping in part because I think fashion shifts are so silly. If something is cute and wearable, as far as I’m concerned, it remains that way until I wear holes in my garment. With that stated I really hate Urban Outfitters. They have taken thrift style (which I was wearing since before Urban Outfitters existed) lessoned the quality, ramped up the prices, and made it generic.
